Breaking New Grounds
GHAFES as we know started as a University Movement and was called Ghana Inter University Christian fellowship (GIUCF) until the emergence of the polytechnics caused a name change to Ghana Fellowship of Evangelical Students.
By the grace of God, we pioneered a fellowship in Holy Child College of Education (GHAFES-HCCE) three years ago. This happened to be our first ever fellowship in a College Of Education, GHAFES-HCCE. Today, the fellowship is one of the fastest growing in the country with a membership of about 220 as at December 2018.
Currently, we have 15 cell groups running with an average of 10 people in each cell. Smaller groups will be formed from the existing large ones which will increase the number this semester. Last year, 33 students were taken through training with the aim of equipping them to lead Small Group Discipleship Meetings. Today, a great door of opportunity has been opened to us with the increased number of Colleges of Education in Ghana (48 colleges). These Colleges have been made Satellite Tertiary Campuses of the Traditional Universities in Ghana which we find as strategic. The success stories in GHAFES-HCCE has propelled us to replicate what we are currently doing in other colleges.
We’ve come this far by the relentless support of Partners and Associates like you. We covet your continual partnership through prayer, participation and financial commitment as we trust God to pioneer more fellowships in other colleges.
