National Director’s Participation in the IFES-EPSA Mentorship Gathering in Addis Ababa

I had the rare opportunity to participate in the 2025 IFES–EPSA Mentorship Gathering held from November 12 to 16, 2025, which brought together eight (8) General Secretaries and National Directors and four (4) regional team from across the IFES–EPSA region for strategic mentoring, leadership formation, and peer learning. The gathering was anchored on 2 Timothy 2:2, emphasizing generational leadership development, faithful stewardship, and the intentional multiplication of leaders within the student ministry movement.

We were privileged to learn from the life journey and leadership story of Dr. David B., IFES Associate General Secretary, whose mentoring sessions were deeply enriching and spiritually refreshing. His sessions focused on leadership sustainability, integrity in ministry, resilience, and the responsibility of senior leaders to intentionally invest in the next generation of leaders. The platform also provided space for mutual sharpening, prayer, and peer support among newer and older General Secretaries and National Directors.

I am eternally grateful to Bro. Zelalem Abebe, EPSA Regional Secretary, for the opportunity and confidence reposed in him to be part of this strategic mentoring community. The engagement has returned GHAFES leadership with a renewed commitment to walk more intentionally alongside staff, strengthen mentoring systems within GHAFES, and deepen collaboration with fellow General Secretaries and National Directors across the region.
