The Power of Partnership and Collaboration: Lessons from FIRESEEDS SMAC 2025

The recently FIRESEEDS SMAC 2025 Conference, organized under the auspices of the Ghana Fellowship of Evangelical Students (GHAFES) and the Great Commission Movement of Ghana (GCMG), offered a compelling reminder that God continues to advance His mission most powerfully through partnership and collaboration. This convention was certainly not just an event, but a living testament of what happens when like-minded movements rally around a common commitment to the Great Commission.

From the Bible, it is undoubtedly clear that God’s work has always been accomplished through partnerships and collaborations. “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor” (Ecclesiastes 4:9, NIV). FIRESEEDS SMAC 2025 embodied this truth, as 1006 (both onsite and virtual) students, graduates, mission agencies, churches, and campus ministries gathered together—each brought unique gifts, perspectives, and resources—to advance God’s mission among students and beyond.

The GHAFES and GCMG collaboration is a through reflection of the New Testament pattern of cooperative mission. Apostle Paul frequently acknowledged co-labourers in the ‘gospel business’, describing them as “fellow workers for God” (1 Corinthians 3:9, NIV). At FIRESEEDS SMAC 2025, this spirit of co-labour was evidently portrayed in the shared planning, teaching, prayer, and mobilization efforts that challenged participants to live missionally—as faithful disciples, intercessors, mobilizers, goers, and givers.

Effectiveness and sustainability in missions are byproducts of authentic partnership and collaboration. Jesus Christ Himself sent His disciples out in pairs (Luke 10:1), underscoring the value of mutual support, accountability, and shared witness. Through collaboration, the FIRESEEDS SMAC 2025 amplified its reach and impact, ensuring that the call to missions was not carried by one organization alone, but embraced collectively by the wider body of Christ.

As the global mission task remains unfinished, the lessons from FIRESEEDS SMAC 2025 are timely. The Church is reminded that unity in purpose does not diminish diversity of calling; rather, it harnesses it for greater impact. “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3, NIV).

In the spirit of FIRESEEDS SMAC 2025, may we continue to pursue intentional partnerships—across movements, generations, and callings—trusting that God will multiply our efforts as we labour together for the glory of Christ and the fulfillment of His Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20).

God bless my brother and friend, Rev. Kuma Doe – National Director of GCMG, for graciously yielding to the call for this partnership and collaboration. I doff my hat out for him for his humility, kingdom-mindedness, and willingness to walk together for the sake of the Great Commission are deeply appreciated and commendable.
