| Thriving as a Discipling Community Dear Cherished Associate, Today marks exactly 58 days into the New Year! Praise be to our God – who alone is Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, for life and good health. On behalf of the Board, Management, Staff and Students of GHAFES, I am extremely humbled by your continuous generosity and partnership in our vision to see students firmly built into communities of Christlike disciples, boldly living for Jesus Christ, while integrating their faith with every aspect of life in a challenging environment. Thank you for walking alongside us the past years.  Our theme for the year 2024 is “Thriving as a Discipling Community” – Ephesians 4:13-16.According to Ephesians 4:7, God has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ. Verse 12 tells us the special gifts are given “for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.” The work of the service is to the world; the building up of the body of Christ is a ministry to other Christians. But what is the ultimate aim of it all? For what reason? Paul says, …until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ; so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and upbuilds itself in love. Ephesians 4:13-16In brief, our focus in 2024 is to raise students as catalysts of discipleship and disciple-making on the campuses across the country.  PrayerIt’s my humble prayer that we will identify God’s immeasurable special gifts that He has endowed us with. May we be grateful for our respective special gifts and put our gifts to the special work assigned to us, whilst being mindful of our need for the ministry of the Holy Spirit not only in our lives but in the lives of others about us, of their ministry to us as well as our ministry to them.  Our yearlong theme is expected to be the fulcrum to drive every aspect of our ministry as we hope to expand our scope in the realisation of God’s global mission, specifically, towards our 4 Key Strategic Priority Areas:Thriving in WitnessPlease pray with us as we trust God to create awareness of the need for creative evangelism among 6,500 students, equip and train 2,830 students to share the gospel, and through student-led initiatives reach out to 60,000 students, while we pray for 6,874 of these students to be convicted by the Holy Spirit to receive Jesus Christ as saviour and Lord. Thriving in Whole-Life DiscipleshipAt the heart of the second Strategic Priority Area, “Thriving in Whole-Life Discipleship”, is raising of delegates from two zones (Mid-Ghana and Northern) as Disciple-Making Catalysts-DMC (through the National Leadership Training Seminar-NLTS) with the  Thriving in Leadership Development and Mentorship It is often said, “students today, leaders tomorrow”. We are, therefore, conscious of the category of strategic people we are called to engage and minister to. The leadership capacity of most of these students are shaped during their days on campus. We betray our sense of seriousness if we do not intentionally engage these strategic masses. Pray with us as we commit to raising 5,000 students as Christlike leaders for Church and State through our unique leadership and mentorship structures. Thriving on New Grounds and Strengthening Associates Ministry & Weak LCFS Our Associates Ministry arm of the Fellowship needs to be restructured and strengthened. Pray with us as we seek to engage an Associate Ministry Director to lead in giving direction and guidance on Associates’ ministry work nationally by ensuring that Associates are well nurtured for engagement with society and that they support GHAFES work both financially and directly involved in Students Ministry. Pray that our pioneering work among five new Local Campus Fellowships, three Graduate Christian Fellowships and four Faculty Christian Fellowships will come to fruition. Below are the highlights of the 2024 Budget: Lastly, in the words of the apostle Paul found in 2 Thessalonians 3:1, my dear brothers and sisters, I implore you to pray “that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured” among the cherished students on all the campuses and revered Associates worldwide, resulting in societies that are transformed to the glory of God.Our prayer for you is summed up in Exodus 33:14, “God said, My presence will go with you.
