RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH: MID-GHANA EZRA CONFERENCE 2026

From 29th to 31st May 2026, 156 students from across the Mid-Ghana Zone gathered at Grace Retreat Centre, Ayigya, for what would become one of the most impactful conferences of the year. The Ezra Conference 2026, held under the theme “Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth,” set out with a clear and urgent mission: to equip students to engage the Scriptures faithfully, responsibly, and with confidence.
In an era where misinformation and misinterpretation of Scripture are increasingly common, the conference offered a timely and much-needed antidote — not through controversy, but through careful, grounded biblical teaching.
WHAT WE LEARNED
The three-day programme combined expository teaching, seminars, workshops, and practical discussions. The sessions covered a breadth of foundational topics:
- The supremacy, inspiration, and authority of Scripture
- The historical reliability of the Bible
- Understanding Bible translations and versions
- Principles of sound biblical interpretation
- Evaluating biblical teaching and preaching
- Creative and effective Bible study leadership
- The role of Scripture in discipleship and leadership development
- Integrity in handling God’s Word
A major emphasis throughout the conference was the critical distinction between Exegesis — drawing out the intended meaning from the text — and Eisegesis — the dangerous practice of reading personal opinions into the text. Participants were equipped with practical hermeneutical tools: how to consider historical, cultural, and literary contexts when interpreting Scripture.

HANDS-ON LEARNING THAT GOES BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Beyond lectures, participants engaged in interactive workshops covering Manuscript Bible Study, Inductive Bible Study methods, and the Observation, Interpretation, and Application (OIA) technique. These practical sessions ensured that students left not just informed, but equipped — with skills they can immediately apply in personal devotion, discipleship, and ministry leadership.
Adding a spirit of friendly competition to the programme, an inter-fellowship Bible Quiz Competition was organized, with USTED-Mampong emerging as the overall winners.

FROM THE STUDENTS: VOICES OF TRANSFORMATION
The true measure of a conference is not the number of sessions held, but the lives it changes. Here is what some participants had to say:
“There are certain things I did not know were signs of a false prophet, which I could have fallen into. Evang. Justice helped me know the truth and how to identify them — and it has kept me safe. I got touched by God and received a visitation from the Holy Spirit. It was indeed a powerful moment.” Nyande Wallace, Sunyani Technical University
“One of my resolutions for this year was to know the Word of God better. From the teaching and seminars, I now know how to go about reading the Bible effectively and how to prepare a Bible study. I believe this will go a long way to help me build my spiritual life in Christ. God bless GHAFES for this opportunity.” Getrude Asmah, IHCF-KNUST
“I am set free. That is the only way I can express how I felt. I am a broken vessel but He still wants to use me. God loves me, and I had to release myself to be and feel loved by Him. I don’t want to go back to the burden I felt — I am free in Jesus’ name!” Irene Takyiwah Ayensu, CMF-KNUST

A WORD FOR THE CAMPUS
Ezra Conference 2026 was more than an event. It was a declaration that the students of the Mid-Ghana Zone are committed to knowing the Word, not just casually, but accurately, humbly, and with integrity. In a world awash with voices claiming to speak for God, the ability to rightly divide the Word of Truth is not optional — it is essential.
To God be the glory for what He did at Grace Retreat Centre. And to every student who attended — may the Word dwell in you richly.
